TOP TAX BRACKET

The
GOP have consistently pushed for a continuation of tax
breaks - in essence, a $23 trillion stimulus package for the
wealthiest. The Bush tax break was supposed to be used to
employ people to get the economy rolling.
That has not happened. In small business, much of the
windfall has been invested in other companies. In big
business, much has gone to increase dividend payments to
stock holders or to contribute millions to political
campaigns to reverse legislation enacted to control the
misuse of power in the financial community, manufacturing,
and mine and deep-water oil drilling.
The desire is to
reverse government controls and return to the policies that
brought on this recession to the benefit of the wealthy and
special interest groups. They are trying to buy a Congress
that will pay them back and fill their pockets at the
expense of those clearing under $200,000 a year.
