NEOK12.COM
This web site may be
more than it appears at first glance. Said to be an
"educational" web site, yet it is a .com versus a .edu. So,
we wondered who was behind it. Unfortuantely, it is
registered with a service that does not reveal the owners or
creators which, linked with much of the extreme right-wing
content, suggests that it may be more of an indoctrinational
web site for political gain designed for the home-school
market than a true educational web site. Furthermore, there
are 9 constitutional lectures. The 9th has been submitted
for inclusion on their web site and has yet to appear. We
believe it won't appear because of the orientation of the
organization that placed the other 8 lectures on their web
site in the first place. Want to see what it says? Click on

"At NeoK12.com, we believe that kids learn best when they "see" how things work, when, where and why they happen. Watching educational videos is a great way to learn because it allows kids to build a visual picture or model in their mind. The visual dimension not only helps them understand concepts better, but also stimulates curiosity and encourages self-learning. Educational videos are possibly one of the most effective learning tools, and honestly, even most grown-ups will find them enriching and entertaining as well. "NeoK12 also features Web2.0 tools for learning and teaching. Our School Presentation tool, a mashup of Flickr and Wikipedia, allows users to create and share intersting school presentations online. Our Quizzes, Educational Games & Puzzles are a fun, interactive way to improve learning. These are also excellent interactive whiteboard resources for the classroom. Other tools allow teachers to create and share bideo playlists with notes and instructions for their students, find and recommend new videos for NeoK12. "We at NeoK12 are committed to cataloging the best free online educational bideos from across the Internet at one place. We watch and review each and every video to ensure they are accurate, safe and appropriate for K-12 kids. "We are always
intgerested in understanding how we can make NeoK12 a better
experience for our kids and teachers. If you have any

We wonder why neok12.com does not list Lecture 9 of this series if they really wanted to be educational. Check it out. I think you might understand why. And why we think this might be a right-wing web site to indoctrinate home-schoolers in a particular political orientation. It is of further
interest that no other videos were listed on this page that
related to Democracy. There was a separate section that also
didn't include the 10:36 minute anti-democracy video from
the John Birch Society that was listed under "Goverment"
Brief
overview of all types of government
"Democracy is a type of government in which the people of a country hold the power to rule by electing representatives. In modern democracies, the legislature, composed of people's representatives, is elected by popular suffrage. The executive head of government is either directly elected by the peo0ple, or chosen by the legislature according to the country's leagl procedures. Certain social liberties such as freedom of speech and political expression, and a free press are essential precursors to democracy."
